So the rampant sickness, difficult pregnancy, and holiday madness consumed me at the end of 2012. I have been unable to complete any kind of household project. I was unable to do holiday baking due to the oven going out right before Christmas. Thankfully, oven is fixed and I think we are on schedule to finishing the master bath makeover this week.
My entire resolution this year is to organize our life and household. With baby number 2 on the way, this is a key feature to managing the chaos I feel I am currently inhabiting. I need control. I need a schedule and serenity in my home since I have none with work.
Pinterest is my new best friend and I have found some amazing organization tips, tricks, blogs, etc that I am going to follow through with.
Let the fun begin.

The Cold Bomb
It never fails. Throughout my life, the second I de-stress the slightest bit, I get sick. I live my life on such a high level of pressure and stress that the minute I come down off that ball, my body slacks and WHAM, I get hit with any germ/virus/bug within a 100 mile radius that knocks me on my tuckas.
After final exams? Yep. Spring break? Sick as a dog. You get the idea. So it is no surprise that my first week of being a SAHM, both my son and I get whopped with a bug. So my big lofty ideas of how I was going to pack my days with projects came to a screeching hault while I was taught a lesson on life.
The outcome is: half finished projects (so I do not have any pictures to post).
Lessons Learned:

Lessons Learned:
- A Magic Eraser overnight in toilet does not magically clean the toilet. It does however make those stains a breeze to wipe off in the morning, so definitely worth it if you have hardwater rings.
- Saran Wrap Press-N-Seal on refridgerator shelves works better if the shelves are room temperature before applying and you cut the paper precisely and wrap it around the edges applying sheets vertically instead of horizontally.
- Nap times only happen when the stars align
- My local Dollar Store does not have near the cool organization options as Pinterest tells you (or else those professional organizer blogs (isn't that an oxymoron?) are liars.
- Doing a few out of the norm activities per day is okay, even if they are small. I am not on a deadline. I am not on vacation for one week. It will get done even if it takes a month.
- When you are not the host of Thanksgiving dinner, it's okay to go ahead and skip the turkey concentration and move straight into Christmas (including cuddling and watching christmas movies during the day...now where did I put those bon bons?)
- I am not okay with the yoga pants pony tail SAHM brigade I ran into while shopping. I think I will stick to my rolled/fixed hair, makeup, boots, jeans and blouses TYVM.

Introduction
Hi. I'm Krista. I am on Day 2 of being a SAHM and I still have my sanity (whether I ever had it to begin with is up for debate). My newly acquired SAHM status is the result of my company closing its NC facility and after 4 years of a great paying, amazing benefits job, I am now at home with my toddler and a baby on the way while my husband works full time and goes to school full time. We made this hard decision due to what we have seen available in our area and the fact I am halfway through a pregnancy that has been very hard on my body. It wouldn't be fair to a company to take a job and have to go out on bedrest in a month or two plus maternity leave. Plus FMLA would not apply to a job under a year so my job would likely not be safe in that event anyway. I have a part time job so we are going to tough it out until after the baby is born and re-assess.
So I am having to retrain my brain from a work-a-holic corporate mindset to a focused on hearth and home mom. Don't get me wrong, I am actually domestic minded. I love home projects, gardening, cooking, organizing etc, I just haven't had the time to do so in the past few years. My fixer upper house is showing the lack of attention so with my limited abilities with a clinging toddler, I am aiming to attack the house in a methodical manner!
This blog is my outlet to keep myself motivated, account for my progress and just give me release in all the things that goes on in my brain with only a toddler (and soon an infant) to talk to during the day!
Pull up a cup of joe (my beverage of choice) and enjoy my craziness and adventures in being a homemaker and full-time mom!
